Connecting a Lamp to WiFi

  1. Plug in lamp.
  2. Make sure status LED is blinking blue
    1. If not, place lamp in “Listening” mode by holding down power button for 18 seconds or by using a paper clip to depress button behind hole on back of lamp stem until status LED blinks blue.
  3. Install the Ario Living app on your phone (iOS or Android)
  4. Launch the app and login or register.
  5. If this is your first lamp, the app will start in the Ario Setup wizard.
    1. If this is an additional lamp, select “Add an Ario” from the main menu in the top left of the app.
  6. Select “I own my Ario”, when prompted.
  1. App will automatically scan for and connect to your lamp.
  1. Switch to the Settings app on your phone.
  2. Select “Wi-Fi” and connect to the network named “ARIO-XXXX” (where XXXX is any 4 characters)
  3. Switch back to the app and setup will continue automatically
  1. When prompted, select your wireless network by name,
    1. If network does not appear, you can enter it after selecting “Hidden SSID” if needed.
  2. Enter your network password.
  3. Setup should finish automatically.

Troubleshooting

"Received invalid data from Ario" or "Timeout waiting for data from Ario."

  • Communication failed between your phone and lamp. Unplugging the lamp for a few seconds will reset the processor and let you try again.
  • If this happens more than 2 times in a row, please contact us at support@arioliving.com

"This Ario is already registered to another user."

  • An Ario Lamp can only be registered to one user at a time. Please contact the user who originally registered this lamp and ask them to Delete the lamp from their account.
  • If this is incorrect or impossible, please contact us at support@arioliving.com

"Your phone is taking a long time to reconnect to your wifi network."

  • If the lamp's status LED is still blinking blue, the lamp did not save your network settings correctly. Unplug the lamp for a few seconds to allow the processor to reset. Then try connecting it again.
  • If this happens more than 2 times in a row, please contact us at support@arioliving.com

"Ario never connected to the cloud."

  • Is the lamp's status LED blinking green?
    • This indicates that the lamp was unable to connect to your wireless network.
      • To try again, place the lamp back in “listening” mode by holding the power button down for 18 seconds or by using a paper clip to press the button behind the hole on the back until the status LED blinks blue.
    • This is often caused by an incorrect or mistyped network password.
  • Is the lamp's status LED blinking cyan?
    • This indicates the lamp was able to connect to your wireless network, but cannot connect to the Ario Cloud.
    • If this is a business network, check with your administrator to make sure there are no network restrictions that would interfere with port TCP/5683.
    • If this is a home network, restart your wireless router.
    • To try again, place the lamp back in “listening” mode by holding the power button down for 18 seconds or by using a paper clip to press the button behind the hole on the back until the status LED blinks blue.
